D-Link’s new camera is Apple Homekit enabled

January 6, 2017 by Ankush Mahajan

D-link has taken the wraps off the new Omna 180 Cam HD (DSH-C310), the Apple Homekit enabled camera first shown off at CES 2017. It is the first in D-Link’s Omna range of Homekit enabled devices.

The Omna 180 Cam HD offers a comprehensive 180 degree field of view to monitor an entire room and provides Full HD 1080p video quality. The Homekit enabled camera includes advanced security features with end to end encryption as well as authentication between the camera and an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. It also allows users to setup the 180 Cam HD via the App Home app in iOS 10. Users can also get notifications on the lock screen of their apple device showing an overview of what’s happening in their home when motion is detected. The device can also work with other Homekit enabled devices including triggering scenes when motion is detected.

Other key features include integration allowing users a full view with de-warping technology letting them see the entirety of the house. With Dynamic View Streaming, the video bit rate continuously adjusts to ensure best quality depending upon the current bandwidth. Two-way audio lets users listen and speak using the camera’s built-in microphone and speaker while night vision shows upto 5 meters in complete darkness with the help of infrared night vision. Recorded clips are saved directly onto a microSDXC card upto 128GB.

Pricing and availability details will be known in the coming months.
