Intel introduces 7th Gen Core Processors

August 30, 2016 by Kunal Gangar

Intel today unwrapped its latest generation of Core processors that are built for the “immersive internet”. The new-generation Intel Core processors are fabricated with 14nm process technology, which Intel calls the 14nm+. In terms of performance, these processors are understandably faster and more power efficient than the previous generations, about 12 per cent better than the 6th Gen Core processor for productivity and up to 19 per cent better web performance.

The new Core processors come with a new media engine that is built on Gen9 graphics architecture that enables “all-day” 4K streaming (up to 9.5 hours) and even makes it easier to create 4K videos with faster processing.

Gaming has also got a boost and despite the integrated graphics, even thin notebooks will be able to play games like Overwatch. Moreover, with Thunderbolt 3, users will be able to connect powerful graphics docking systems to add more power to their existing mobile devices.

Over 100 two-in-one devices and laptops with 7th Gen Core processors will make its way out throughout the year with many more expected in the next year.
