Learn, engage and entertain with the K-Yan

September 4, 2018 by T3 Online

K-Yan, short for Knowledge Vehicle is not only a multipurpose device but a solution, which helps transform pedagogy from mere transmission to a facilitator of transformation.

Developed by Professor Kirti Trivedi, IIT Bombay, and IL&FS Education and Technology Services in 2007, the K-Yan can transform any surface into an interactive whiteboard, besides functioning as a TV, projector, DVD player, audio system and more. The high-quality projector is bright enough for outdoor application, is coupled with the latest Intel Core processors (up to i7) with integrated graphics, and RAM up to 32GB.

K-Yan works by using image processing technology, it can convert any wall or whiteboard into an interactive teaching surface. One can write, draw, highlight and move content like on a touch screen. There’s a built-in speaker along with 1TB storage to store content.

As far as e-learning is concerned, IL&FS Education has designed over 10,000 2D/3D learning units of multimedia content and features ‘exploriments‘ that encourage learners to actively participate in the learning process.

K-Yan’s pricing starts from Rs. 70,000 and goes up to Rs. 1,25,000 based on the specification.
