Review: Think Tank Retrospective 7 V2.0 Shoulder Bag

December 16, 2021 by T3 India

Price – Rs. 12,990

When you go to the lengths to make the photograph you want, you not only need the right gear, but also a companion like the Retrospective 7 V2.0 that will safeguard your gear come what may. When it comes to the overall size of the bag, additional storage pockets, and organisational capabilities, the Retrospective V2.0 range of shoulder bags by Think Tank stand out. This bag is available in different sizes and for this review we used to Retrospective 7 V2.0.

The main compartment comes with 3 straight but flexible and foldable dividers, which allow the camera body to sit above an attached narrow lens, and can accommodate smaller lenses below the body too. In addition to fitting a standard DSLR or a mirrorless camera with an attached lens, this bag can easily fit two more large lenses, like a 24-70 f/2.8 lens and/or a 70-200 f/2.8 in the zipped main compartment. The main compartment has a dedicated pocket in the rear which can fit a 13.3-inch laptop, and also has a large sleeve in the front that is perfect to store smaller items like cables.

This messenger-styled bag is made of a tough canvas that is pretty soft. The bag is water repellent but Think Tank also provides a form-fitting rain cover as well, which is a great bonus for those working in extreme climates. What we loved is the addition of a collapsible side-pocket, which can carry a reasonably-sized bottle – or items a small umbrella.

Overall, the Retrospective 7 V2.0 is very comfortable. The shoulder strap is well-padded and is wide enough to distribute the weight evenly and not cause irritation. It’s a very solid bag made of rugged and durable material, which has been Think Tank’s forte.

RATING

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating: 5 out of 5.

WE’RE IMPRESSED organisational capabilities, large main compartment, wide and adjustable shoulder strap, and the overall build.

WE’D IMPROVE the outer flap’s closing mechanism

THE LAST WORD This large bag can fit everything from your smaller accessories up to your large camera bodies and lenses, and a 13-inch laptop, and is a fantastic investment for those who are looking for a reliable and comfortable option.
