December 26, 2016 by Ankush Mahajan

Sony has expanded its mirrorless camera range in India with the launch of the new APS-C Sensor alpha 6500. The 4D FOCUS system can focus on any subject in 0.05 seconds featuring 425 Phase Detection AutoFocus points which is the world’s highest number of AF points on any interchangeable lens camera.

The alpha 6500 features in-camera 5 axis Optical Image Stabilisation making it the first APS-C sensor camera from Sony to offer advanced in-body stabilisation which also includes shutter speed advantage. The camera is equipped with an APS-C sized 24.2MP 12 Exmor CMOS sensor working together with a BIONZ X image processor. The touchscreen display enables users to lock focus on a subject by simply touching it onscreen.

It can shoot images at upto 11FPS with continuous autofocus and exposure tracking. The alpha 6500 can also record videos at 4K resolution (3840x2160p) in Super 35mm format. It uses XAVC S codec for recording at a high bit rate of upto 100Mbps (4K) and 50Mbps (FHD).

The alpha 6500 is available in all Sony Centres, Alpha flagship stores and various electronic stores at a price of Rs.1,19,990 (body only).
