Turn your DSLR into a 360 degree camera

Sphere Optics, a startup, has a nifty lens by the name of Sphere which has been designed to convert any DSLR into a 360 degree camera. The lens is capable of capturing a full 360 degree view horizontally and 180 degree horizontally.

The lens makes use of a toroidal design which according to Sphere Optics has yet to be used by any other company. It lets users who are shooting regular content to conveniently capture content without breaking the bank. Switching doesn’t take time to capture complete spherical content with a full, omni-directional view that won’t require photo stitching. The lens can be mounted on an interchangeable lens camera including both DSLR or mirrorless.

Coming to the main specifications, the lens has an aperture of f/8, 35mm full frame image circle, 40 inch optimal focus, 198mm length and weighs 1.8kg. As of right now, the lens comes bundled with a Nikon F mount and adapter compatible with mirrorless as well as DSLR cameras made by other manufacturers.
